Hosting both the established stars and new talents, the festival brings together the most popular comedians of the moment to show off the best humour has to offer. All the festival's galas are coproduced by Télévision Suisse Romande (TSR) and broadcast on TSR, France 4, TV5 Monde and Comédie!...which exposes the festival to worldwide audiences throughout the year.

While the festival takes place mostly on stage, the humour can also be seen through several other media: at the cinema, on the web and mobile phones, thanks to the festival's web TV, distributed on a number of partner sites like Dailymotion to name but one! As a parallel feature of the festival, a platform reserved for the professionals of the showbusiness world and the media has also been set up, called Montreux Comedy&Media.
